The Blaisdell Papers have been published by the "Blaisdell Family National Association" since 1935 and have had at least two publications every year starting in 1936. The staff is all volunteer members of the Blaisdell family and has been carried on for 68 years. A current subscription is available for a minimum contribution of $15 a year. This covers the cost of the printing and mailing. The "Blaisdell Family National Association" is a tax exempt, non-profit 501 (c) 7 organization.
The Blaisdell Papers consists of articles about the family, past and present, reunion events, historical events, antiques, businesses, marriages, births, deaths and anniversaries. Some of the articles have been on the Blaisdell car, Blaisdell clocks, inventors, cities, streets, mayors, college presidents, doctors, artists, authors and the inventor of the paper wrapped pencil.
Each issue of the Blaisdell Papers has articles of historic and genealogical importance, articles pertaining to present family members, School News, Reunion News and locations around the country, Vital Statistics (Births, Marriages, and Deaths), and Queries. The papers average 84 pages, including 25 photos with a nice cover. They are published twice a year: June and December. These can be bound at the completion of a volume (a five year period) and preserved. They are printed on acid free paper to limit the yellowing with age. The Blaisdell Papers are sent to 40 libraries, including the Library of Congress, Family History Library, DAR, Everton, Newberry, and Wayne County, Indiana. The are also distributed to areas of Blaisdell interest and areas sponsored by members.
